Our Story

Our story begins in 1996 when Katie Jeane moved onto a bare piece of land north of Willits in Mendocino County with her two children ages 3 and 5. The land was undeveloped with no house, no running water, no electricity. She put up a tipi and started a garden. Over the next 7 years, she built the first permitted cob house in California. Her sons were raised on the land living in harmony with nature. It was not until they were 10 and 12 that she installed solar to bring electricity to the farm. Prior to this, they lived by candle light and fire. The food was cooked over the fire or warmed in a solar oven. The cob house was built from the soil and clay from the land and a few trees were cut and milled to form the main frame of our home. The river rocks in our kitchen floor came from the same part of the river that she went into labor with her second son at. The manzanita branches that frame her couch were harvested from the same manazanita bushes that we made our manzanita berry necklaces from each December. Money has never been what drives us, it is a deep connection to the land and the spirits of our place. It is from this place of earthly abundance that we share our healing medicine with you.
Fast forward to 2010 and Katie was beginning her transition away from teaching kindergarten and becoming a full time farmer of vegetables and cannabis. This is when she felt a calling to plant work and dedicated her life to the cultivation and formulation of healing plant medicine. She began breeding cannabis and was quickly drawn to CBD.
She developed many high CBD varietals and in 2014 began exploring 1:1 THC:CBD. This was the beginning of Harmony Rose, Equinox, Rising Sun, Crystal Hope and many more cultivars that express unique ratios of THC and CBD.
In 2018 she was encouraged by spirit and a few close friends to explore THCV. Out of this exploration, Pink Boost Goddess was born. Pink Boost Goddess is our first cultivar to express THCV in a 1:1 relationship with THC. This varietal has now gone on to win multiple awards including 2x Emerald Cup 1st place, 2x California State Fair Gold Medal, 4x SC Lab Award, and Leafly top 12 cultivar of California in 2023.
Today, Katie, her two sons Joseph and River and Joseph’s wife Catherine continue to work the land farming fruits, vegetables, cannabis and other medicinal herbs. This family homestead has evolved over the 3 decades we have lived here but one thing has remained the same. We are deeply connected to this land and are forever grateful for the incredible abundance and diversity it has provided for us. We continue to make the land better than it was the year before by improving soil organic matter, water retention, plant diversity and much more. We are dedicated to farming organically and use regenerative practices in the hopes that this land can continue to provide for our family for generations to come.
