Trilogy is the first cross in our breeding work to weave together THCV and CBG. The plants are short and stalky to support chunky dense buds bursting with pure white pistols. When smoked, the effects include an uplifting motivation that is grounding and clear. The flower often smells like earthy pine with a hint of pepper.

Trilogy is the latest iteration of a CBG line we have been working on for almost 4 years. Equinox CBG is a terpinolene rich CBD varietal that occassionally expresses CBG. We spent 3 years selecting for the CBG expression in the Equinox lineage before crossing it with Pink Boost Goddess to explore a THCV and CBG combo.

A perfect marriage? THCV and CBG

A survey of 127 patients who use CBG was conducted by Dr Ethan Russo et al and published in Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research Volume X, Number X in 2001. According to this survey, CBG was identified as supporting three main functions for patients: 51.2% reported it helped with anxiety, 40.9% reported it reduced chronic pain and 33.1% of patients used it as an antidepressant.

Research with THCV has shown that it can reduce anxiety, nerve pain, depression and may also help reduce appetite and cravings. There is very minimal research on how these two cannabinoids work together. In reviewing the cannabinoids separately, we notice a good deal of crossover between these two cannabinoids. Crossovers include, but are not limited to: anxiety, pain, depression and focus.

Based on research of THCV and CBG, we believe this potent combo could help provide an uplifting, sativa like effect while reducing the experience of anxiety, pain, depression and promoting focus, energy and productivity. Thus far, patient reports have verified these findings. We continue to work with our patients to better understand these unique ratios and how they may be able to support patients.
